Derek Booth is an English search engine optimisation (SEO) expert and pay per click (PPC) specialist based in Wigan.[1] He has worked in online marketing since 1998, beginning in the early days of paid search on platforms such as Overture, and provides SEO, PPC, marketing strategy and online reputation management services to businesses across the UK.[2] He is also the founder of PPC for SEO, a training platform that teaches SEO professionals how to use paid search data.[3]
Booth began working in online marketing in 1998, the same year Google was founded, and has specialised in SEO and PPC throughout his career.[2] Working from Wigan, he offers SEO consulting, PPC management, local SEO, Google Business Profile optimisation and online reputation management, with clients across Wigan, Warrington, Liverpool, Leeds, Chester, Wrexham, Manchester and London.[1] He is the founder of The Marketing Brain, and his website lists clients including WH Smith, Hammer Films, Atkinson Blankets and Casino Life Magazine.[2]
Booth has spoken at the SEO Rockstars conferences in Las Vegas (2017) and Dallas (2022) and presented at the White Hat v Black Hat SEO conference in Victoria, Canada.[1] He has also given a marketing presentation at The Law Society. In 2017 he was voted Best SEO Influencer by the SIA.[1]
Booth created PPC for SEO, an educational platform built on the idea that PPC can be used as a fast validation tool for SEO: while organic rankings can take months to test, paid search can reveal keyword demand, messaging and user intent within days.[3] The platform offers PPC training courses for SEOs, a members' mastermind group, PPC AI software for campaign setup and keyword discovery, and an ad copy generator.
